School Guide
Welcome to the new school year!
We are so excited to meet all our new friends and see old faces again on the first day of school.
Our Spanish-immersion school is made up of diverse and varied voices with a strong sense of community, solidarity, and support. Like our namesake Dolores Huerta, we are proud of our historical commitment to social activism and to ensuring all members of our community receive what they need.

Get Involved at School

Juntos Podemos means "Together We Can". It takes help from all of our community to make Dolores Huerta Elementary the amazing school that it is. We need your help in whatever ways you can give it, whether it's donating your money, volunteering your time and or serving on one of our school committees.
Dolores Huerta Elementary has a simple uniform: heather gray shirt with black bottoms. The bottoms can be pants, shorts, a jumper, a skirt, etc. Shirts do not need a collar. Shirts with the school logo can be found in our online store. Good deals on uniforms can be found here. In addition, the school maintains a closet of gently used and new uniform items for families that need assistance. Please visit the office and ask to see the social worker at the school for more information.

Pickup and Dropoff
We highly recommend biking or walking to school as there is not a lot of room for car drop off
Car drop off can only be done at the Chenery Street White Curb. There are parent volunteers to help drop offs go quickly and safely.
Do not block traffic during drop off
Do not drop off at the Randall Street White Curb as it is reserved for buses.
Pre-kinder parents must find a place to legally park and walk their children into the school
Students are dismissed from their classrooms - please wait outside the classroom door until the teacher begins dismissal procedures
Students will only be released to an adult specified on their emergency card, so please be sure your child’s emergency card is up-to-date with all caregiver names and contact info
